NEW FEATURES: 1-BUTTON RECORDING - Just press the RECORD button on either the unit or the IR remote and unit will go directly into Record-Pause when an unfinalized CDR or CD-RW disc is present in the CD recording drive. RECORD-REVIEW - Immediately play back the last recorded track by pressing the RECORD-REVIEW button. The mic/line input levels will automatically mute, voiding feedback. REVERB & DELAY EFFECTS - Add ambience to your recordings with built-in microphone reverb and delay effects. You can adjust how much is added, from a little to a lot. INDEPENDENT DRIVES - The CD Recording drive and CD player drive operate independently. Continuously record while starting and stopping the CD player. ENHANCED KEY & TEMPO CONTROL - New algorithms offer significant improvement in the PSD340’s key and tempo change controls. Now you can slow CDs as much as 75% in 1% or 5% intervals. And the quality is better than ever, so that music still sounds good, with fewer audio artifacts at a greater range of change. PLAY AND MANIPULATE MP3 FILES - Not only can the PSD340 play MP3 files on a disc, but the music practice features for Key, Tempo, A-B Looping, and Voice Reduction work the same as with CD audio. BUILT-IN TUNER & METRONOME - Generate an A440 tone or use the chromatic tuner to play a note and see if it is sharp or flat. The built-in metronome allows changes of beats-per-minute and accent beat. PLUS THESE GREAT ORIGINAL FEATURES OF THE PSD300:Without having to use computers, expensive software, or special recordings, it is now possible to easily manipulate and even make recordings DIRECTLY TO CD using your Music Minus One CDs - or any audio CD - to gain incredible playback and recording control. No matter what your music situation - whether it’s to learn your favorite concerto or chamber-work, transcribe lyrics or notes, master a difficult riff, or to emulate an artist’s phrasing - or to record through the PSD340's professional microphone inputs to any CD-R or CD-RW media, professional and amateur musicians, performing arts educators and their students will benefit enormously from this jam-packed new machine, which packs so much technology into a portable package.
The Superscope PSD340 portable CD Player/Recorder is built with special features that other audio equipment just does not provide. These features include:
· TEMPO CONTROL - With just the touch of a button you can increase the tempo of any CD up to 50% or slow down tempo by 75% (without changing key.)
· KEY CONTROL - Without changing tempo, you can change the key ±1 octave, in 1/16th note increments.
· FINE TUNING - Perfectly match the music to your instrument’s tuning.
· A-B PRACTICE LOOP - Select a segment of music to continually repeat.
· LEAD VOCAL REDUCTION - reduce a vocal lead from a standard stereo CD or tape.
How it can work for you and your MMO editions
Have you ever been frustrated as you tried to learn an accompanied piece at full tempo? Traditionally instrumentalists learn music by working up from a slow tempo until the notes are firmly within their grasp, gradually increasing over time to full speed. The Superscope 340’s tempo control allows you to hear the music in its original key while dramatically altering tempo on the fly. You can slow down your CD by 75% or speed it up by 50% (in increments that alter tempo 1% from the previous setting). That gives you a tremendous advantage in learning any accompanied piece using your MMO album!
An added bonus is that if you’re trying to dissect or transcribe another soloist’s lightning-fast notes or lyrics, the PSD340 makes it much easier to pick out the notes, dissect the phrasing, or hear lyrics more clearly.
Also, because Music Minus One accompaniments are of necessity recorded at a fixed tempo, the PSD340 gives you the ability to alter that tempo to fit your own interpretation of the music. And with the incredible audio specs and on-board integrated CD-R/CD-RW recording, you can even make a custom accompaniment for yourself that utilizes your preferred tempi throughout the piece! It includes a coaxial digital SPDIF output, and the integrated CD-R/CD-RW gives you the ability to plug in your mikes or instruments and create a fully mixed CD with you as the star soloist! One step at a time
While controlling the tempo, you can simultaneously select A-B loops that will continuously repeat until you’ve mastered that selection. You won’t have to wait to get to the part you want. You can also seamlessly advance through the recording one musical phrase at a time.
Tune it Pianists and guitarists alike will appreciate the PSD340’s ability to fine-tune the CD to your instrument. Avoid the hassle of retuning your entire instrument simply because a CD has been mastered sharp or flat in relation to your instrument. Transpose keys Suppose an original recording is in the key of C, but you want to perform it in the key of E. On the PSD340 CD Player, the key control provides a simple way to change the key of the music up to an entire octave higher or lower, while retaining the original tempo. Hands-free operation Pianists and others who place themselves at distances from their PSD340 can roam freely by using the included remote. You can also conveniently start and stop the PSD340 while you keep your hands on your instrument, using an optional foot pedal. Take it with you Take the AC-powered PSD340 integrated recording studio with its optional carry case to the places you want to be. And, of course, you can easily use it at home or in the classroom. The unit includes a headphone output as well as a built-in speaker for portable convenience. Mix it up Simply plug your microphone or instrument (including electronic keyboard, electric bass or guitar, or electronic mute for wind instruments) into the PSD340’s XLR or 1/4" inputs. Manipulate any CD by reducing the lead vocal and changing the tempo or key. When you mix in your microphone(s) or instrument(s) with the CD, you can hear the results as a stereo mix or send your input to one channel and the CD to the other channel. Monitor the results via head-phones, the built-in speaker, or external speakers. Record the results The PSD340’s array of inputs and controls, feeding the integrated CD-R/RW recorder give you an encapsulated recording studio that simply has no rival. You can also make straight internal dubs at high speed (2X)
